„With Soviet Union for eternal times and never otherwise!“
Do You remember the Velvet revolution?
I remember the Velvet revolution, it was in 1989. I was already the mother of two little children. This revolution we lived in we live in such a way that we listened to media, we watched TV. Mainly older people were very pleased that the Communist government falls.
Do You know, why we mark The 17 of Novemer The Students Day?
The 17 of November is The Students Day in honor of stake young boy Ján Palach. The reason of his stake was his disagreement with then regime.
How was to study in the period before the Revolution?
In the period before the revolution there was, as I can say, dictatorship. The borders were closed, we had to go to schol wearing decent clothes. It meaned, that we couldnt wear jeans, we couldnt have long hairstyle. We received the ID cards in Pioneer dress and even on the first election we had to wear uniforms of federation. There was a special procession on the 1. May and we had to proclaim slogans, for exemple: „Let live KSČ!“ or „With Soviet Union for eternal times and never otherwise!“
Do you see some differences between the study before and after revolution?
I think that the students have greater freedom today, they can travel abroad, where they can imrove foreign languages. There is democration and nobody limited them in nothing.
Thank You for interwiew.
