Life around 1989
1. Do you remember some story that told you parents of this period?
I remember one of the year 1939, where my Mum told me about how it was for the 1st Slovak state. My grandfather was Bohemia and worked in the Hungarian border in the mill. When was the 1st Slovak State he had with 3 children escape from the house, literally dug him out of it. My grandmuther stayed in Bratislava, but the grandfather had to go out of state. They employed with a song in one Jew in Bratislava later, and therefore can stay here and live in Bratislava.
- How do you remember of yourself youth during communism?
My youth was marked by the fact that in 1968 the Soviet Union invaded Czechoslovakia. It was a great humility and loss of my generation. All the ambitions of this generation they had "trampled" and the love of the Soviet Union too. We could not travel abroad and I personally have been hit so because my father spoke of the Communist Party. I had a problem getting to the high school and university. Although I have received, everywhere I went they asked why he spoke of. When I wanted to study abroad, so I have not because the father spoke of. After university I was employed in accountancy offices and since 1989 I have founded my own company for bookkeeping.
- How do you remember at 17 November 1989?
For our generation affected by the year 1968 and the years of standardization it was silly fun, relaxation and we thought that the whole world belongs to us. I could not walk on the square (SNP) because I had a baby, but everything I looked on television. I was happy that the coup occurred. It was a period when we get to 1989 could not say what we think and when ypou the closet friend you betray. Shops were empty, we went for shopping in bulk and we watch some advice on basic foods and fruit before Christmas. When the Iron Curtain fell, I was incredibly happy and the whole time I root for them.
